Conservatives hold Charnwood Borough Council

Following the Borough Council elections on Thursday May 5th the Conservatives have retained control of Charnwood Borough Council.  With all the results declared the Conservatives have 33 seats, Labour 16 seats, Lib Dems 1 seat, Independent 1 seat and BNP 1 seat.

National No to AV campaign visits Loughborough

The National No to AV campaign visited Loughborough on its national tour earlier this week.  Loughborough MP Nicky Morgan was joined by local Conservatives, including Loughborough Association Chairman, Cllr Peter Lewis at the event to show their support for the No to AV campaign. 

Baroness Warsi visits Shelthorpe Community Garden

Earlier this month Conservative Party Chairman, Baroness Warsi, visited Loughborough to meet local election candidates and to visit the Shelthorpe Community Garden Project.  Part of the Loughborough in Bloom competition the Garden has been developed by local Shelthorpe residents.  Baroness Warsi was shown around by Shelthorpe's Conservative local election candidates Ann Watkinson and Geoff Parsons.  Ann is also Chair of the Shelthorpe Community Association.
