 Nicky Morgan, prospective Conservative MP for Loughborough recently hosted a Bollywood Night at Reel Cinemas, Loughborough; with guest speaker Ed Vaizey MP, Shadow Minister for the Arts, in attendance.
‘I organised this event because I wanted to show that the Conservative Party of today is eager to embrace different cultures and that the party is open to everybody’, said Nicky Morgan.
Over 300 guests piled through the doors of Loughborough’s only cinema for the Bollywood- themed evening complete with authentic Indian food, dress, dance and film. Conservative MP and Shadow Minister for the Arts, Ed Vaizey MP spoke to guests about his love of Indian film, food and culture, revealing that his family has a number of close links with Indian Politicians. He said, ‘Nicky is doing a fantastic Job here in Loughborough. She is working very hard to connect with different communities in the town and that clearly shows from the level of support that she has here tonight’, said Ed Vaizey MP, who spent most of his time on the dance floor. Loughborough resident Trushal Harji said, ‘Ed is a top bloke, he is made us all laugh during his speech and he has clearly danced to Indian music before. I’m really impressed by his knowledge of this kind of dance’. ‘Nicky’s not a bad dancer either’, he added.
‘I was delighted when Nicky Morgan approached me with the idea of hosting a night of Bollywood at my cinema’, said Mr Suri, Proprietor of Reel Cinemas; who is now considering organising similar events himself in the future owing to the success of this evening. ‘Nicky has shown that she is not only willing but also able to embrace people of all cultures, backgrounds and faiths, in organising this event. I am confident that Nicky would do a great job of representing all of Loughborough’s residents should she be elected as Loughborough’s next Conservative MP’, he added
